HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT WEIGHT LOSS

Let's face it, weight loss is not easy.

If it were 70% of the population wouldn’t be overweight.

So losing weight takes a special kind of commitment to yourself if you want to be successful at it long term.

When it comes to what to eat, most people know roughly what to do, but they struggle with not being able to follow through. To do what it is they know.

This may have happened to you - You get really excited, you get started on your goal to slim down, then something happens. You get off track and struggle to get back ‘on.’

This is where regular appointments with me can help. Its not so much to keep you on track, but to help you navigate life's circumstances that come up and get in your way – and they’re always going to come up.

That’s why its so important that during any time you feel you are struggling to do what you know is best for you, what will help you reach your goal, it’s even more vital that you come to your appointments. Don’t ever be embarrassed about what has happened as I see this all the time and this is what I specialise in - the HOW to do what you know!

Weight loss is not only about what you eat, but the when, why and how much and this is more to do with what's going on in your mind rather than your knowledge.

We all overeat at times, but if you are doing it too often, we need to look at why. There is always a trigger, in fact there will be many triggers in your life that encourage you do to so. Its about exploring what they are and finding ways to manage them.

Overeating is a habit and habits by their very nature are hard to change. That’s why regular appointments can help you through this process. Change feels uncomfortable as your brain wants you to keep doing what you have always done, even if its not getting you the results you want.

The brains main job is to keep you alive and one of the ways it does this is by being as efficient as possible. It controls EVERYTHING your body does as well as all the decisions you make every day. That is an incredible amount of work for such a small organ to do. It needs to be efficient in order to get all of this done daily and make sure you don’t die along the way!

Change brings up fear of the unknown, the brain can interpret this as danger and give you all the warning signs in the form of uncomfortable feelings and/or excuses which most people take as a sign to give up.

Such excuses can include:

“This is so hard”

“I just don’t have the time”

“It doesn’t matter what I do, I won’t succeed, or if I do, the weight will just come back on anyway”

Your brain can provide a very convincing argument encouraging you to get 'off track' or give up so it can return to doing what it's used to, what it’s most familiar with.

But this is a thought error in your brain. It’s concerned that what you are wanting to do may threaten your survival. This is leftover programming from tribal times when the world was a much scarier place! But this is why it’s so important to get help during this process.

It’s hard to navigate change on your own, so know that I am here to help, never to judge.

Your appointments with me are a judgement free zone, because judgement NEVER helps, it only every hurts. It keeps you stuck doing the same old thing and getting you the same results.

So if you are ready to find that inner thin you, I am here to help. And can provide you with the type of guidance and coaching that will get you the results that you want. A slimmer, trimmer, healthier you, for good!
